From The Horse’s Mouth
The Valley blog—stories from our clients, pieces on equine therapy, posts about mental and physical health, and VTEA news.
“My passion has always been horses. I have seen firsthand how deeply therapeutic they are, how they heal without saying a word. Horses have been part of my life for as long as I can remember, and the peace, strength, and comfort they bring are something truly special. I volunteer two days a week, and it is one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. There is something beautiful about watching these gentle, older, retired horses, so calm, so patient, so well cared for, continue to have purpose. This organization enables a wonderful life during retirement. They are loved, they are looked after, and they stay active in their later years. It keeps them moving, healthy, and connected. But the true magic happens between the horses and the people. I have seen children who were shy and withdrawn slowly come out of their shells. I have watched their faces light up, beam with joy, and grow in confidence. The transformation is incredible. Being on horseback builds more than balance it builds self-esteem. It strengthens mental health. Even speech improves as they play games and interact while riding. Physically, they gain core strength and better balance. Emotionally, they gain courage. Mentally, they gain clarity and confidence. And spiritually, they gain connection. This organization changes lives both human and horse. They need your support to continue this beautiful work. Feeding the horses, maintaining the property, caring for their health and daily needs it all requires resources. Your generosity truly makes a difference. I am so proud to be part of this organization. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for your efforts and your support this Valentine’s season. Please help us continue spreading joy, healing, and hope. I am so excited and so grateful. We love you all. Thank you.”
